Choosing Color - Learning Theory
As I have widened my art practice over the last few years, I find myself thinking a lot more about color and how it affects us. I have always had a love of color. Strong bright and vibrant, or soft mellow and muted, they have all called to me in various ways over the years.
I am working on a number of new projects this year, all which depend greatly on my choice of color. I find myself wanting to go deeper and learn more about color theory. Here is a short list of a few books on color that I plan to dig in to over the next few months.
Books I’m going to check out:
Interaction of Color, by Josef Albers (50th Anniversary Edition)
The Art of Color: The Subjective Experience and Objective Rationale of Color, Johannes Itten
Color Choices: Making Color Sense Out of Color Theory, by Stephen Quiller
If you have any more recommendations please leave me a comment, or drop me a line. I’d love to hear about all your color book loves.
