New Timelapse Videos

I have been having so much fun doing something that I never thought would be fun!

My husband and I have been talking about shooting timelapse footage of me painting or weaving for a long time now. He started playing around with shooting his own timelapse landscape shots last year and learned some valuable tips that he was able to pass on to me.

A few weeks ago he showed me how to set up the camera and intervalometer. Yup, that’s what I said… what the hell is an intervalometer?! Long story short it tells the camera how many seconds to wait in between shutter releases.

I am actually really enjoying the post processing work to turn the hundreds of images into short bite-size clips of hours of painting. It’s valuable for me to watch my decision making process as the painting develops and I think everyone loves a little timelapse video right?

I’ve posted four videos so far. You can view them on Facebook or Instagram. (I created an IG Highlight for Timelapse Videos so they’re easy to find.) There will be more coming. I’m planning to edit them all together into one longer video for my October show at Vaulted Gallery. I’ll be sure to share the finished video as well, but I couldn’t wait to tell you about the clips that you can watch now.

Enjoy… and tell me what you think. Do you like the videos? Should I make more? Would you like to see me weaving at my floor loom as well?
