Networks and communities… the way we come together… threads from one community connect to those in another. We have so much to learn from each other and so much to share with one another! How we grow and work with one another is a choice, a choice we make every day when we interact locally.
There is so much depth and color in these “neutral” paintings. I hope you’ll take some time to enjoy the detail images to see all there is to discover in this painting and it’s partners.
This painting was created in fall of 2021 in Santa Barbara, CA. This is one of three complementary paintings exploring the idea of community. They would work well as a triptych but are sold individually. If you are interested in all three please contact me for new pricing.

I create these paintings using a mixture of oil paint and wax. I utilize other drawing materials throughout the process, melding the drawing, mark-making process with painting.
The finished painting is created through many layers and often take months to finish. The process of layering, scraping and digging back through those layers gives the painting incredible history that is brought up to the surface in part due to the wax mixture itself.
The painting tells a story through the individual movements of my hands, color choices and mood of the finished work. These pieces are a joyful mix of planning and letting go until the final work is brought together in harmony or intended discord.
